Riverbanks Clinic is a doctor-led, CQC-registered medical aesthetics and laser clinic near Harpenden. Founded in 2008, we bring 18 years of experience to helping patients make safe, informed decisions about their skin, appearance and wellbeing.

Our approach is simple: listen carefully, assess medically and recommend only what we genuinely believe is appropriate. We provide considered, evidence-led care rather than cosmetic quick fixes, with treatment plans designed around the individual—not a trend or a sales target.

Doctor-led from consultation to aftercare

Being doctor-led means medical judgement shapes every stage of your care. Our clinicians consider your medical history, your concerns, the condition being treated and the long-term health of your skin before recommending a plan. Safety protocols, treatment selection and follow-up are guided by experienced medical professionals.

Sometimes the right advice is to wait, choose a different approach or have no treatment at all. We will always be honest about what may help, what is unlikely to help and what recovery or maintenance may involve.

Riverbanks Clinic opened in 2008 and has grown into a multi-award-winning centre for medical aesthetics, dermatology, laser treatments, regenerative care and skin health. Our team supports patients from Harpenden, St Albans, Luton and further afield in a discreet countryside clinic designed to feel calm, private and welcoming.

Experience matters to us not simply as a number, but because it strengthens clinical judgement. It helps us recognise when a treatment is suitable, tailor settings and techniques appropriately, manage complex cases and provide realistic advice about results.

Clinical leadership and credentials

Riverbanks Clinic was founded by Medical Director Dr Ravi Jain, MBBS MRCGP (GMC 4154927). A UK-trained medical doctor and former NHS GP, Dr Jain has worked exclusively in medical aesthetics for over 18 years. He lectures nationally and internationally, advises leading aesthetic and medical-technology organisations and is known for his expertise in facial anatomy, ageing and regenerative medicine.

Our wider clinical team includes GMC-registered aesthetic doctors, an experienced dermatologist and laser fellow, and a UK-trained plastic surgeon on the GMC Specialist Register with FRCS (Plast) and European board certification. Together, the team brings expertise across dermatology, lasers, injectables, scar management, skin of colour, minor surgery and advanced skin treatments.

Qualifications and registrations are the starting point. Our clinicians also maintain their knowledge through ongoing education, professional development, case review and participation in the wider medical aesthetics community.
